Christopher Performs In NFL Half Time Show
Bermudian Broadway star Nicholas Christopher performed in the halftime show during the New York Giants’ game against the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium on Sunday [September 13].
In its announcement ahead of the game, the Giants said, “Halftime will feature a first-of-its-kind Hamilton performance and will bring the acclaimed Broadway musical to the NFL for the first time with a special arrangement by Alex Lacamoire and Don P. Roberts featuring a marching band collaboration with Morgan State University’s Magnificent Marching Machine, Penn State’s Blue Band and soloist Jaheim Lee.
“The performance will feature a medley of Hamilton hits performed by Nicholas Christopher as Aaron Burr with Mandy Gonzalez, Morgan Anita Wood, and Candace Quarrels as the Schuyler Sisters.”
The halftime show formed part of the Giants’ programme commemorating the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, with the evening recognising first responders, military personnel and families affected by the attacks.
The talented Bermudian has appeared in multiple Broadway productions, with his performance in Chess earning him a Tony Award nomination for Best Leading Actor in a Musical earlier this year, with his impressive performance sparking a viral moment attaining over 12 million views on social media.
Christopher also appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show in June, where Clarkson said she was “blown away” by his performance in Chess. Their conversation covered his career, Tony nomination and his father, Ed Christopher, who serves as the City of Hamilton’s Town Crier.
