Seniors Expo To Be Held On October 1st
The Ministry of Youth, Social Development and Seniors will host the Seniors Expo 2026 on Thursday, 1 October, at Bermuda College, bringing together seniors, families, caregivers and community partners for a day of information, engagement and inspiration.
A Government spokesperson said, “The free, full-day event coincides with the United Nations International Day of Older Persons and aligns with this year’s theme: “The Age of Longevity: Rethinking Systems for Longer Lives.” The Expo highlights the many resources, services and opportunities available to support Bermuda’s growing senior population and to promote healthy, active and fulfilling lives.
“The Minister of Youth, Social Development and Seniors, the Hon. Tinee Furbert, encouraged seniors, caregivers, families and community members to attend.”
Minister Furbert said: “Bermuda is experiencing a significant demographic shift as more people live longer. This presents tremendous opportunities for us to build a community where older adults can continue to thrive, contribute and remain actively engaged. We must work together to ensure that longevity is matched by good health, financial security, social connection and dignity.”
The Minister added: “The Seniors Expo offers a valuable opportunity for seniors and their families to connect directly with government departments, community organisations and service providers. Attendees will receive practical information, discover available resources and learn about programmes designed to enhance wellbeing and quality of life. We look forward to welcoming all members of the community to this informative and empowering event.”
A Government spokesperson added, “The Expo will feature educational presentations and interactive information booths covering a range of topics, including:
- Healthy ageing and wellbeing
- Dementia care and support services
- Financial crime prevention and consumer protection
- Housing programmes and resources
- Community support programmes
“Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage with representatives from government agencies, non-profit organisations, and community partners dedicated to supporting Bermuda’s seniors.
“The event will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and light refreshments will be provided. Parking is available at the Bermuda College and at the Evangelical Church of Bermuda. A minibus service is available to transport attendees from the Bus Stops and the parking lot at the church.
“The Seniors Expo is free to attend, though registration is encouraged. Register by telephone at 444-1480 or 444-1478.
