Wade And Smith Win Hendrickson Memorial
Greg Wade and crew member Geno Smith won the Lawrence “Stickers” Hendrickson Memorial regatta for the first time after a four-race series off the Mid Atlantic Sailboat Club.
Wade and Smith defeated Alan and Laila Frith on countback after both crews finished with six net points.
Wade and Smith won two races and placed fourth in another. They discarded a fifth-place finish under the regatta’s single-throwout rule to finish with six net points.
The Friths recorded one win, one second-place finish and two third-place finishes. They also finished with six net points after discarding one of their third-place results, but Wade and Smith won the countback by virtue of their two race victories.
Dale Brangman and mixed crew members Daylon and Faya Brangman finished third with eight net points. Brangman recorded one win, along with third-, fourth- and fifth-place finishes.
