Butterfield Launches ‘Fill The Pantry’ Food Drive
Butterfield is inviting the community to come together in support of The Eliza DoLittle Society [TEDS] for its “Fill the Pantry” campaign, a community-wide food drive aimed at helping individuals and families experiencing food insecurity across Bermuda.
A spokesperson said, “From now until 15 October, the public is encouraged to donate non-perishable food and pantry items at collection bins located inside Butterfield’s Front Street Banking Centre, Somerset Banking Centre, and at The English Market on Front Street.
“The ‘Fill the Pantry’ campaign builds on Butterfield’s recent $30,000 donation to The Eliza DoLittle Society [TEDS], which was expected to provide about one month’s worth of quality grocery support for registered households.
“Through ‘Fill the Pantry’, Butterfield hopes to stretch the impact of its cash donation two additional weeks, raise awareness of food insecurity in Bermuda, and provide a practical way for the community to get involved.
“Members of the public can participate by donating unopened, non-expired, non-perishable food and pantry items, including canned goods, pasta, rice, cereal, cooking oils, coffee, tea, and other everyday essentials such as deodorant, toilet paper, toothpaste and soap. The last day to donate is Thursday, 15 October, before Butterfield employees pack and deliver the remaining items on 16 October in recognition of the United Nations’ World Food Day.
“Butterfield encourages individuals, families and businesses across Bermuda to participate in ‘Fill the Pantry’ and help strengthen TEDS’s overall capacity at its Warwick location as we enter the busy holiday period. Businesses interested in getting involved by housing a collection bin of their own are encouraged to email giveback.BDA@butterfieldgroup.com
