Mackenzie Weir Pays Tribute To Mother
Mackenzie Weir paid tribute to her mother, Jolene Beth Weir, a registered respiratory therapist who was among those aboard the air ambulance flight that was travelling from Bermuda to Boston.
In a post on social media, Mackenzie Weir said, “My mom, Jolene Beth Weir [Presley] was a registered respiratory therapist and spent the last six years working for an air ambulance company transporting patients home and to medical services from anywhere in the world to anywhere in the world. Friends would often ask me where in the world she was and I would have to check her location on find my friends and let them know she was in Japan, Egypt, Greece, Northern Canada or literally anywhere. She worked her whole life saving lives and more recently changing people’s lives for the better helping them get to where they needed to be.
“This same mentality and care for others wasn’t just her life at work, it was her entire life. She was a storyteller at heart and wanted to hear everyone’s stories and make sure everyone was always good before ever thinking about herself. If anyone needed help with a plan she already had it figured out before you had to ask.

“She loved her family, her friends, nature, camping, Starbucks, Taylor Swift, a clean house, musical theatre and of course, travelling the world. This job was her dream job combining her ability to care for others and see the world, which she did.
“Tonight her name was released alongside two pilots, a nurse, a patient and their family member. Saturday morning around 1:30 a.m. she was on a flight from Bermuda to Boston when the flight lost all communication and went missing. My family all knew by morning. Later in the evening they found confirmed debris of the plane presuming all on board to be dead.
“I could write a million memories and definitely will, but for now this is enough. I love my mom so much and cannot believe this is real.
“Thank you to Latitude Air Ambulance, the US Coast Guard and all the other American emergency companies who did not cease in searching and supporting until something was found.
“Thank you to everyone who has already reached out to my dad, brothers and family. You are not bothering us and we have been cherishing every single message. We cannot believe how incredible the community around us is. Call your mom. Hug your mom.”
There have been hundreds of comments left on her post and many are from Bermudians extending their sympathies and their thanks to her mother.
In addition to Ms Weir, those on board the aircraft include Captain Philip Childerhose, First Officer Thomas Farquhar and Flight Nurse Sarah Paton of Canada, as well as Bermudians Marilyn Lavonne Bean and her son, Sergio Wayne Lottimore.
