Canada To Lead Air Ambulance Investigation
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada will lead the investigation into the air ambulance tragedy, and will also “deploy investigators to assist in the search and recovery of the aircraft.”
The air ambulance was operated by Latitude Air Ambulance, a Canadian company, hence Canada will lead the investigation.
A statement issued by the agency said, “The Transportation Safety Board of Canada [TSB] will lead the investigation [A26F0321] into an accident involving a Latitude Air Ambulance Gulfstream G100 aircraft, which occurred on 3 October 2026 in international waters off the coast of Nantucket, Massachusetts.
“The aircraft departed Bermuda with six occupants and was approaching the Boston area when the crew reported electrical difficulties. The aircraft subsequently descended rapidly and contact with air traffic control was lost south of Nantucket.
“Pursuant to international agreements, the investigation shall be conducted by the State of registry, which is Canada.
“The TSB will be assisted by the National Transportation Safety Board [NTSB] as accredited representatives, and in the coming days will deploy investigators to assist in the search and recovery of the aircraft.”
