27 Year Old Man Dies Following Traffic Accident

Bermuda has marked its sixth road traffic fatality of 2010, with the passing of a 27 year old man earlier today [May 29].

Around 2:40am today, Police and first responders attended a collision between a BELCO truck and a motorcycle on Middle Road in Paget in the area of the Paget Shell gas station.

As a result the motorcyclist, a 27 year old man, was rushed to King Edward Memorial Hospital via ambulance where he later died of his injuries.

His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 295-0011.

This the sixth road traffic fatality of 2010:

  1. 69 yr old Derek Smith died on April 24, weeks after being struck by a  motorcycle.
  2. 41 yr old Andre Hendrickson died after being struck by a car on Apr 17.
  3. 26 yr old Carlton Darrell died on April 2nd after a single vehicle accident in Devonshire
  4. 23 year old Dareiko Simons died on January 9 after his bike collided with a car in Sandys.
  5. 21 year old heart transplant survivor Earl Ingemann died after a Jan 1st car crash in St. George’s.
