Clay Smith: We Will Prove The Octopus Wrong
St George’s Coach Clay Smith has repudiated the Cup Match prediction by Bermuda’s “Houdini The Octopus”, saying that it is a possibility that the Octopus operates differently from his more famous counterpart “Paul the Octopus”.
Mr Smith said he suspects our octopi population is “backwards” from German octopi, and Houdini the Octopus was actually predicting whom he thought would lose the match.
As seen below, yesterday Houdini the Octopus selected Somerset to win Cup Match, which thrilled Somerset fans and caused St George’s fans to make allegations of incompetence against the eight-legged sports pundit.
Clay Smith is the first player to score three centuries in Cup Match, and regarded by many as one of the all-time best batsman Bermuda has ever produced.
Mr. Smith represented Bermuda for close to 20 years, including four ICC Trophies as well as the World Cup. In 1997-98, the second year of Bermuda’s participation in the Red Stripe Cup in the West Indies, he made hundreds against Windward Islands and Jamaica and in 2005 he scored back-to-back first-class hundreds against Cayman Islands and Kenya.
The veteran cricketer, and now-octopus-refuter, is strongly convinced that something is amiss with the Octopus prediction. Whether he is right or wrong will be determined in a matter of days.

Clay Smith is correct.
I would further point out that since obtaining my Ph.d in physics in 2001…if you loook closely you will see that the Octupi is not attatched nor has contact with the plexiglass container with contents.
It’s “cups” are on the thick glass that contains it livelyhood.
