Arrest After Man Breaks Leg in Accident

Last night [Aug 7] at around 8pm, a motorcyclist broke his leg in an accident and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.

Police attended the road traffic collision Harrington Sound Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with Quarry Road. The Police say that appears that the truck was traveling west on Harrington Sound Road and the motorcycle was traveling in the opposite direction when they collided.

The 42-year-old truck driver wasn’t injured, however his truck received front end damage. The motorcycle rider, a 38 year old Hamilton parish man, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving, while his motorcycle received extensive front end damage. Police inquiries into this incident are underway.
