Man Arrested After Three Vehicle Collision

A 64-year-old man has been arrested “on suspicion of impaired driving” following a collision on South Road in Southampton yesterday [Aug 17].

A police spokesperson said, “It appears that this collision occurred just prior to 9:40am Monday, 17th August 2026. Apparently the driver of the overturned truck, understood to be a 64-year-old Sandys parish man, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was later arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.

“No other injuries were reported and traffic in the area was diverted for approximately two and a half hours, while the collision scene was processed. Inquiries continue and any witnesses are encouraged to call Constable Kori Jackman on 211 or email kjackman@bps.bm.”

    The amount of accidents and arrest on suspicion of DUI is past concerning and the amount of trucks I see pull up to Henrys pantry in the morning and the liquor store in Warwick first thing in the morning its a wonder we dont have even more.

    Police conduct sobriety test at night but they would probably would be flabbergasted at the amount failed test first thing in the morning. Functioning alcoholics. Do it to ourselves.
