Premier Receives Shine Hayward CD
Premier Paula Cox received an early Christmas present yesterday [Dec 23] from legendary jazz musician Wendell “Shine” Hayward, when he presented her with a gift of his newly released Christmas CD. The Premier is said to be especially fond of Mr. Hayward’s “‘Saxy Drummer Boy” — a Bermudianised take on the Christmas standard “Little Drummer Boy”. A fixture on the Bermudian music scene for more than 30 years, Mr. Hayward’s ”Saxy Drummer Boys” features the musician on saxophone with the Gombeys. The CD single is available at Shine’s Music, Music Box and at the Arnolds supermarkets.
