Four Men: Armed Robbery in Southampton
[Updated] Just before 12:30pm this afternoon [Dec 6] a robbery took place in a Southampton residence, with no reported injuries.
Officials have not confirmed yet if firearm was used in the commission of the crime, however there are unofficial indications that an assailant[s] brandished a gun.
Police have confirmed that they responded to a call at 12:30pm, and said they will release further details this afternoon.
Update 4:57pm: Police issue statement confirming incident, and saying “that four men gained entry into the home, with two of the men brandishing what appeared to be firearms.” Fortunately the occupant was not injured. Their full statement is below:
At 12:10pm on Monday, Police responded to a report of a burglary at a South Road, Southampton residence. From the initial investigation it would appear that four men gained entry into the home, with two of the men brandishing what appeared to be firearms. The occupant was not injured and the intruders fled the scene on foot. The police are looking into a number of potential motives for the attack. The suspects are described as black men in their late teens/early 20s of slim build, wearing helmets and blue jeans. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010 or the independent confidential Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline on 800-8477.

I think we need to state the fact that we are in this crime mess because the PLP made the decision some years ago to adopt a Policy of Co-Existence with the Gangs…and this policy has now blown up in their faces. I think it’s a fair assessment and we need to remind people that this act was one of treachery. They created this mess by looking the other way in the hopes the gangs would simply keep to themselves and also self-police themselves. They looked the other way because too many of their supporters were making too much money in the drug trade. This policy of Co-Existence has led to Bermuda becoming a gangstaa paradise.
But their black males in their late teens early twenties, its not their fault just ask Rolf Commissiong.

My opinion…..I honestly believe we need more cops in Bermuda….Crime is out of control and all the police seem to say is “We can’t be everywhere”…..Fair enough but damn, If you guys can patrol stop signs, I’m sure you can roam the island looking for idle hands….Satan seems to know were they are, and is uing them to his advantage.

@Gump! I’m black and you don’t have to imagine hate directed at blacks. These black gangbangers hate blacks. Those who don’t like blacks are happy to see blacks killing and robbing blacks. Why? Because as long as blacks are occupied with killing and robbing each other in Bermuda everybody else is safe except for tourists! Oh yeah. Hats off to the police for what they do in the face of budget cuts and limited human resources. I believe they are doing the best they can with what they have.
What I want to to see is legislation that bans dark helmets visors and increase the fines for dark tint on car windows and strickly enforce both (more human resources required)
Add to that, increase the Bermuda Police Service budget to enable them to increase their numbers . Most road users know that it has turned into a free for all out there. Every one seems to run red lights and now a fourth lane has been created by us on bikes. I call the fourth lane suicide .The only reason more of us have not been killed is for the fact that the vehicle traveling in the oposite direction pulls over.Speed cameras are necessary and tie the non- payment to the passport and or travel arrangements.I offer no comment on the violence except that assist any way you can ,but for a cure no one seems to know what to do . The criminals sleep good while I can’t get no sleep.
