36-Yr-Old Man Assaulted In Sandys
A 36-year-old man was assaulted in Sandys on Friday [Oct.28], with the suspect escaping on the victim’s motorbike.
A police spokesperson said, “At 11:45 pm on Friday October 28th, police responded to a reported robbery at the junction of Middle Road and Woodlawn Road in Sandys.”
“It appears that a 36 year old Sandys man was riding a motorcycle in the area when he was approached by an unknown man at the junction who demanded money. The suspect then assaulted the Sandys man before making good his escape on the victim’s motorcycle.”
“The 36 year old man was injured and transported to KEMH for treatment of relatively minor injuries. The victim’s motorcycle was later recovered by police on Rockywold Road in Sandys.”
“The suspect is described as brown-skinned, about 5’4” tall and in his early twenties. He was wearing dark coloured jeans, a t-shirt and a baseball cap. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing. Any witnesses or anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.”

It had two wheels. One in front and one in back. One vitness said dey look black to the them. @ LOL everybody is always commenting on the need to ban tinted helmet visors, but in each description of culprits they are ALWAYS described as wearing DARK CLOTHING…are we gonna call for a ban on those too….

I am well aware of that fact, but maybe, just maybe you missed MY point…but never the less..my comment..my opinion and I know what I meant..my apologies in advance if you missed it….
Shades also hide people’s identities. Scarfs, hats, and etc. do the same, but making tinted visors illegal is not going to stop these guys from doing what they are doing. Making tinted visors illegal not only punishes the culprits, but it also punishes the people that actually use it to block the sun while riding. I truly believe that people making this comment do not ride a bike travelling west in rush hour traffic. Just because you can do without it doesn’t mean that everyone else can. That is like telling people in cars that they can’t use their sun visor because it hides their identity.
Remember that when there is a will, there is a way. So therfore to try and make tinted visors illegal will not prevent the culprits from using them. A good arguement for this is that guns are illegal, but these guys are still using them. My thing is that you have to address the reason why these guys have so much hatred to kill somebody in the first place.
I don’t think they should ban people wearing these cloths but police should definitely routinely stop and check anyone fitting this description. In their routine check police should also require ID and ID should be made mandatory for all to have on them when traveling regardless if on foot or transport. This way if a robbery happens in that vicinity on that day they will have suspects to question. I know many may think this is stereo typing but this is the norm description of robbers so to deter robberies this routine check should be in place. These punks have put Bermuda in a state of terror so they should be treated as terrorist and tried as terrorist when caught. IMO any violent criminals should be put to death since they are a waste of space and tax payers money when imprisoned and can never be rehabilitated.
