Premier Donates To Christmas Drive

December 23, 2011

All that was missing was a partridge in a pear tree when Premier Cox on Tuesday [Dec. 21] presented two Christmas Hampers, three turkeys and a Market Place Gift certificate to radio personality Miss Thang’s Christmas charity drive.

The HOTT1075 broadcaster told the Premier her donations had capped a full Christmas campaign that could only be characterised as unprecedented and soul-fulfilling.

After talking with Miss Thang and her little helpers who annually assist her in organising the hundreds of wrapped presents and gift items, the Premier appeared “live” on the afternoon show with radio host saying, “I love Christmas time and while I enjoy engaging in the official festivities, it’s the small things the cooking and baking and the conversations at the family gatherings that really make Christmas, Christmas.

“I would like to wish you, your listeners and all of Bermuda a very merry and safe Christmas and hope this year that someone meets that special person or decides to stop at a friend or a relative’s house that they haven’t seen for a long time. The joy of Christmas is in reconnecting with those who mean or once meant the most to each and every one of us.”

“What you have accomplished in your years of providing this opportunity for the public to donate to those who need a helping hand is nothing short of outstanding and it is the true mark of what Christmas means or should mean to us in the spirit and season of selfless giving.”

She could give us all a gift by reducing that customs hike and her salary and those of her useless MP’s. A lot of people are suffering in Bermuda this Xmas but she and the rest of them aren’t.They will have lots of expensive gifts and plenty of food on their table
