Yesterday [Jan.21] three hockey games took place in the Women’s B Division, with the Bluebirds, Wildcats and Budgies all chalking up victories for the day.

Ravens 0 Budgies 1

The only goal of the game came when the Budgies Melanie Fullerton scored from a Penalty Corner in the 57th minute.


Swallows 1 Bluebirds 4

The Bluebirds went in front in the 12th minute when Sarah Smith scored from a Penalty Corner. The lead was doubled in the 42nd minute when Jo-Ann Smith-Barrow scored from a Penalty Corner.

Denise O’Donague made it 3 – 0 to the Bluebirds in the 47th minute when she scored a Field Goal. Two minutes later Maria Dodinson pulled a goal back for the Swallows when she scored from a Field Goal, but the Bluebirds three goal lead was restored in the 69th minute when Kris Soares scored from a Penalty Corner.

Wildcats 7 Longtail Canaries 2

Rebecca Gibbons gave the Longtail Canaries the lead in the 8th minute scoring a Field Goal, however the Wildcats pulled a goal back in the 13th minute when Ashley Steede scored a Field Goal, one minute later Steede put the Wildcats ahead 2 – 1 when she scored her second Field Goal.

The Wildcats then went 3 – 1 up in the 18th minute when Ryce Trott scored a Field Goal, Steede completed her hat-trick with a Field Goal in the 27th minute to make the score 4 – 1. Trott then made it 5 – 1 two minutes later when she scored her second Field Goal of the game.

Maya Palacio pulled a goal back for the Longtail Canaries in the 60th minute scoring from a Penalty Corner, five minutes later Cerepha Bridgeman scored a Field Goal for the Wildcats to make it 6 – 2 and then Trott completed her hat-trick with a Field Goal in the 70th minute.
