Thompson Finishes 26th In France

Bermuda’s D’Vario Thompson played in his second International JR. Squash tournament of the year in the City of Lille France.

Thompson took part in the Under 17 Age Group Division finishing 26th in the group of 60 in the 2012 French JR. Open.

Thompson finished the tournament with 3 wins and 3 defeats, with George Parker of the UK winning the Boys Under 17 Division.

Thompson won his first match in 17 minutes in straight sets 11-5, 11-4, 11-6 over Sebastian Wiesner from Sweden. Thompson’s second match took 40 minutes, where he went down in four sets 9-11, 11-9, 11-4, 11-6 to Baptise Masotti from France.

Thompson then fell to 1-2 in the tournament going down in straight sets to Antoine Poulain from France 11-3, 11-4, 11-0, he then bounced back to defeat Karim Eltorgman from Egypt in straight sets 11-9, 11-4, 11-9, but he fell on straight sets to Avichal Barmoucha from Israel 15-13, 11-9, 12-10.

Thompson closed out his tournament with a Walk-over win over Theo Froment from France.
