Cricket: Bermuda Defeat Uganda In UAE

Stephen Outerbridge captained the Bermuda team in the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier 13th Place Play-off against Uganda in the United Arab Emirates today [Mar.23].

Uganda won the toss and sent Bermuda to bat, Bermuda scored 179/4 in their allotted 20 overs, Janeiro Tucker was the top scorer with 62 not out, while Fiqre Crockwell added 47 and Lionel Cann scored 42. Tucker faced 41 balls hitting 7 fours and 2 sixes, while Crockwell hit 3 fours and 1 six in his 44 ball innings and Cann faced 22 deliveries hitting 2 fours and 4 sixes.

In reply Bermuda restricted Uganda to 138/5 in their allotted 20 overs, Arthur Kyobe was their top scorer with 41, while Jonathan Sebanja added 34, four Bermuda bowlers took a wicket each, Dion Stovell took 1-23, Sammy Robinson took 1-24 and Stefan Kelly took 1-25. The win saw Bermuda finish 13th in the 16 nation tournament.

The final score was Bermuda 179/4 Uganda 138/5.
