Chris Estwanik: ‘I Feel Stronger Than I Ever Have’

May 23, 2012

If he crosses the line first in tomorrow’s Bermuda Day Half Marathon Derby, Chris Estwanik will become only the fourth person in the history of the race to win the title on five consecutive occasions.

The defending champion is hoping to join Ed Sherlock who won in 1958-62, Sandra Mewett who won in 1988-92 and Kavin.Smith who won in 1999-2003.

The present May 24th record holder, Mr Eswanik is a former top college runner and professional runner with Nike Farm Team. His specialty was 1,500 metres, and he started branching into longer distances in recent years. His wife Ashley Estwanik also goes into tomorrow’s race as the favourite to win the title.
