Results/Video: Weekend T20 Cricket Games

A number of Twenty20 cricket matches were played Saturday [May 12] at venues around the island. Following below are results from some of the matches and a video clip.

St. David’s Cricket Club Win by 17 Runs

St. David’s Cricket Club 138/9 Flatts Victoria 121/8

St. David’s Cricket Club won the toss at Devonshire Recreation Club and went to bat scoring 138/9 in their 20 overs. Loren Marshall was the top scorer with 32 while Nelson Bascome had bowling figures of 4-0-24-3 for Flatts Victoria. In reply, Flatts Victoria got off to a flyer with top scorer James Celestine hitting boundary after boundary before falling for 55, however Flatts fell 17 runs short of their mark scoring 121/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Sammy Robinson had bowling figures of 4-1-3-3 for St. David’s.

Bailey’s Bay Win by 13 Runs

Bailey’s Bay 168/5 Western Stars 155/5

At the St. John’s Field, Bailey’s Bay batted first and scored 168/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Stephen Outerbridge was their top scorer with 62 while Swain Campbell was the pick of the Western Stars bowlers with figures of 3-0-16-3. In reply Wayne Campbell scored 38 not out but Western Stars fell 13 runs short of their target scoring 155/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Rodney Trott was the pick of the Bailey’s Bay bowlers with figures of 3-1-5-2.

Southampton Rangers Win by 4 Wickets

Cleveland County 102/6 Southampton Rangers 106/6

The Southampton Rangers won the toss at the Somerset Cricket Club and sent Cleveland County to bat where they scored 102/6. Treadwell Gibbons Jr. was their top scorer with 38 while Dion Stovell bowled 4-0-11-3. In reply, Southampton Rangers scored 106/6. Kwame Tucker was the top scorer with 34 while Allan Douglas Jr returned bowling figures of 4-0-16-3 for Cleveland County.

Somerset Cricket Club Win by 6 Wickets

Warwick Workmen’s Club 198/4 Somerset Cricket Club 202/4

At the Somerset Cricket Club, Warwick was sent to bat and scored 198/4 in their allotted 20 overs. Lionel Cann was the top scorer with 170 not out and in reply, Somerset Cricket Club scored 202/4 in 18.4 overs. Shaquille Jones was the top scorer with 75.
