Temporary Police Telephone System Outage

[Updated] The 911 emergency phone number is currently the only means of contacting the police until further notice due to operational difficulties, a police spokesperson said this evening [July 26]. Non-emergency contact should be made through the nearest police station until the matter is resolved.

A police spokesperson said, “”The Bermuda Police Service is presently experiencing telephone difficulties. At present only the 911 system is operational at this juncture.

“We are asking at that only people with emergencies contact the 911 number, all other non emergencies should be taken directly to the Police station in your area. We apologize for the inconvenience and we hope to have this matter resolved as soon as possible.”

Update July 27 7.22am: All of the police phone lines have been restored.
