The Somerset Trojans are the Dudley Eve Champions, after defeating the North Village Rams in extra time.

The 2012 Dudley Eve Final got underway at the National Sports Center this afternoon [Nov 11] with both teams hoping for a victory.

The North Village Rams scored in the 35th minute when Joshua DeSilva lobbed the ball over Somerset Trojans goalkeeper Shaquille Bean.

Two minutes later the scores were level, as former North Village Rams player Tyrell Burgess was brought down in the box, and beat the North Village Rams goalkeeper Dwayne Adams to his left. The teams went to the break with the score level at 1 – 1.

The North Village Rams came out firing in the second half and created two chances within the first three minutes. First Bean watched his right footed shot go just wide, and then Lashun Dill had a shot go wide. In the 49th minute Dill forced the Somerset Trojans goalkeeper to make a save.

In injury time North Village Rams goalkeeper Adams dove to deny Jonathan Bean the winner. Three minutes into the second half of extra time Dion Stovell beat three men and slammed in a left footed shot to give the Somerset Trojans a 2 – 1 lead.
