Man Charged With Importing $178K Of Cocaine

December 22, 2012

In Magistrates Court yesterday [Dec 21], Barbadian national Dave McDonald Trotman, 39, faced a charge of importing cocaine and a second charge of possessing cocaine with intent to supply. Both allegations arose out of an intervention on 18th December in St George’s.

Crown Prosecutor Cindy Clarke said that the street value of the cocaine was $178,000. Both charges are indictable so they can only be tried in Supreme Court, and Mr Trotman was not required to enter a plea.  The Senior Magistrate ordered that Mr Trotman was to be remanded into custody until 4th January.

  3. MJ says:

If found guilty he should serve his time and then be deported. We have enough local scum, we don’t need to import any more. If he is married to a local they can choose whether to go with him or not. Ban him from ever returning. This should apply to any nationality.

  4. Opressed says:

$178K or a one day supply for the island.

If guilty, I think he should be extradited to a Barbados Prison. Why should we bear the cost of room and board at Westgate?

    • Triangle Drifter says:

And why should Barbados taxpayers pay for him?

Look around. How many Bermudians are locked up abroad?

  7. MAKE MY DAY says:

If guilty, Send his Barbadian A$$ to Westgate for 20 yrs!!! Send a message that BDA will NO longer tolerate ALL this “drug crap”!!!

  8. Family says:

Sending a foreigner to prison in Bermuda doesn’t solve the problem. Westgate is too easy for him. Send him back to Dodds Prison in Barbados and let him do his time there. Foreigners are treated way too special in Bermuda … more priviledges and more phone calls … what the hell!!! Grantley Adams Airport awaits your arrival Mr. Trotman.
