Traffic Advisory: Convening Of Parliament

The  Bermuda Police Service issued the following traffic guidelines for the Convening of Parliament which will be held today [Feb 8] on the grounds of the Cabinet Office.

Road Closures

The following road closures will be in effect from 10:30am until approximately 12 noon:

  • Front Street – between Queen Street and the western exit of Number 8 car park (Supermart) both sides.
  • Court Street – between Front Street and Reid Street.
  • Burnaby Street – between Reid Street and Front Street.

Diversions

  • Traffic travelling into the City of Hamilton on Front Street from the west will be diverted onto Queen Street.
  • Any traffic departing in an easterly direction from Front Street will be diverted north onto Parliament Street.
  • Traffic travelling into the City of Hamilton on East Broadway from the east will be diverted up Spurling Hill.
  • Access to businesses along Front Street will be permitted as far as Number 8 car park.

No Parking

No parking will be permitted at the following locations from 8.00am until the conclusion of the ceremony:

  • Front Street – between Parliament Street and Number 8 car park (Supermart).
  • Court Street – between Front Street and Reid Street both sides.
  • Reid Street – between Parliament Street and Court Street both sides.
  • Parliament Street – between Front Street and Reid Street both sides.
