People who are 4 this type of s*** are so closed minded, alchohol is far worse and went through the same process of prohibition give it another 3 to 4 years and governments will be taxing the s*** out of it. Government policies and laws in a lot of instances are #Hypocritical as f**!!!!!

  5. m3ke says:

And why is this a crime if someone allegedly wants to grow their own herbs?

    • s3an says:

Answer: The same reason why it’s a crime for someone to keep and use a gun for personal defence.

      • m3ke says:

Guns are manufactured to kill. Herbs are a natural plants that can be used for cooking, medicine and eating etc. Need I say more?

Your answer isn’t correct in this scenario but I totally understand your logic.

        • Zombie Apocalypse says:

Ah. The logical fallacy of the Appeal to Nature. Marijuana occurs naturally, so anyone should be able to have as much as they want.

          Absolute nonsense of course.

Guns are natural too. They are made of metal dug out of the ground. What could be more natural? The same is true of most weapons. So why aren’t people allowed to have as any weapon they want?

Tobacco is natural. It is a plant. Yet it is very harmful -it kills millions of people every year.

Alcohol is perfectly natural. It is used for cooking, eating, drinking. Yet an often-used pro-marijuana argument is that alcohol is bad for you, and therefore marijuana should be viewed as preferable. But alcohol occurs naturally.

There are plenty of naturally occurring animals that are dangerous, and ownership of which is regulated. There are plenty of naturally occurring plants that are harmful or poisonous.

The fact that something occurs naturally does not make it desirable or harmless. It is absolutely irrelevent.

          • DE Guy says:

Alcohol, cigarettes, and guns do not occur in the natural world as they are fool, they all require some form of altered ingredients that when combined give you the desired product. Marijuana?? guess what you have to do for some herb…GROW IT. no factory needed

            • s3an says:

Wow, with that great of a rebuttal I think I my change my mind on the subject. Anthrax is a natural bacteria found in soil through the world, you should have been the defence lawyer for the guy who sent it through the U.S. mail.

Being it was natural and had no chemicals added it really can’t hurt anyone.

            • Sandy Bottom says:

              Nope, you’re wrong. Fool.

There are documented examples of animals eating over-ripe berries and becoming intoxicated due to the alcohol content, occurring naturally. Tobacco is just dried, like cannabis. No factory needed. There are plenty of harmful insects, plants, fungii, animals, fish and amphibians. No factory needed, all occurring naturally.

So whether or not something occurs naturally has absolutely nothing to do with its safety or desirability. It’s a nonsensical, stupid argument.

        • s3an says:

Anthrax is a natural bacterium found in soil, so by your logic, maybe we should let people cultivate that being that too is also natural and literally from the earth?

Botox, is also naturally produced, it cases botulism, but people also inject it into their faces to remove wrinkles. Maybe we should allow people to grow that in thier homes and sell it to make extra cash on the side, it is a recession after all, and i’m sure the people who buy it will use it in a “correct” and “resposible” manor.

  8. grow up says:

It is a crime to have, grow or sell this “herb” and until it’s not, then the offenders should be punished. How does this not make sense? How would you feel if I took it upon myself to share some with your child? Then I could stupidly claim “Di herb neva hurt nobody” (great english by the way…..)

To all the people screaming for legalization, ORGANIZE, get a core team together, establish a corporation or charity for anonymous donations/ sponsors, evangelize the streets, organize fundraisers, events, voting blocs, memberships with benefits, Get a headquarters, write new legislation, make it easy for the gov, run for Parliament in sympathetic parishes and push for law change.

  10. OH BOY says:

stupid police leave the herb alone, its a helpful and handy plant, it cures more than it causes probs and if you look at recent medical research it is a super cure!!! old with the old and in with the new!!!! legalize it

  11. Impressive says:

but just think of it logically.. how could it be illegal to grow a plant out of the earth. is the earth than illegal?? if people stepped back and really thought about this, they would realize how silly it is to be taking someone to court for growing plants.. some may say I am making light of the topic, but enlighten me, why is it illegal to grow a plant????

  12. Truth is killin' me... says:

SMOKIN’ HERB LEADS TO MENTAL PSYCHOSIS!

    • Come Correct says:

Going to court for a plant leads to mental psychosis.

  13. nomoremoney says:

    Grow up, pls grow up.
    Nobody is sharing with children.
I’m waiting for the judges and ag chambers to seriously look at the current approach of shutting down people who are growing it locally. In most instances it’s shared amongst friends. It’s the crap being imported that is laced with chemicals and harmful as well as distributed by gun carrying thugs.

  14. TED says:

The main reason they will continue to prohibit Marijuana is because it cures all types of Dis-eases and so they will cut into the pharmaceutical cartel’s drug trade. It is a natural medicine that has been used for over 6000 years and can be grown cheaply by anyone.
So here we have Robot Cops that have to abide by their puppet masters or they lose their jobs.

Just Blame de herbs! But has never killed a soul! It treats seizers, give cancer patients appetites, lowers blood pressure (for people with high blood pressure), epilepsy, glaucoma, sh** it even makes cloths! shall i go on! The real problem is the ones right in our face (i.e cigarettes, alcohol) It just amazes me that its been around since the dinosaurs age! Its even in the bible found on King Salomon’s grave!

    • Sandy Bottom says:

Yeah, well when you learn your history by watching the Flintstones I guess you’ll believe anything.

  16. Skiller says:

What really blows me away whether herb is illegal or not, how does that become such a major factor in ones life to warrant so much time and discussion? I drink when I choose too if alcohol became illegal so what! There are so much more important things in life that require our time and energy than to be consumed with smoking herb and drinking alcohol!

    • Sorry Sir says:

No, there’s so much things in YOUR life that require YOUR time and YOUR energy. Not everybody is a “Busy-bee”.

    • Give Cannabis more attention says:

Actually, I don’t think Cannabis has been given enough attention in public discourse here in Bermuda. I have heard only a few individuals discuss it in an intelligent and informed manner. I think most of us will agree that Cannabis has far more beneficial uses than alcohol or tobacco.

As you are aware, not everyone that smokes cannabis is a habitual user. Many use it casually, just as you seem to be a casual user of alcohol (which is fine).

If alcohol were to become illegal today, the harmless act of exercising your individual right (as an adult) to consume alcohol, would suddenly become a criminal act. Just think of the money it would cost our government to prosecute these people because drinking (and producing) alcohol would not magically disappear overnight.

I am not saying that you are guilty of it, but as a society, we need to stop painting everyone who chooses to use Cannabis with a broad negative brush.

Just a little Food for Thought!

  17. Cracker with Cheese says:

    Legalize the Ganja Bush !

  18. pwndwg says:

Treating cannabis users as criminals is immoral and unethical. A large percentage of our community use cannabis and a majority think that it should be decriminalized. The criminalization of such a large number of otherwise law abiding citizens is absurd and also supports an unnecessarily lucrative criminal trade in this plant which is far less harmful than tobacco or alcohol.

  19. atightbredren says:

When will we wake up??!!! Not that herb is the most important thing in life but we need to start prioritizing our issues so that we can get our island back into a place that suits more than just one group of people. This small island is filled with small minded people as well. We continue to make marijuana the face of drug wars. It remains the highest persecuted “drug” worldwide. Betmuda stands in the top 10 countries worldwide with highest incarceration rate for marijuana!!! We continue to make it a criminal offence whether for simple possesion or to the highest distribution/manufacturing. Many states in the US have possession up to an ounce(28 grams or 1/16 of a pound) classed a misdemeanor offence punishable with a ticket. Many other states are even decriminalizing marijuana possession. We continue to make criminals out of our own people and are even punished with being placed on a “stop list” which prohibits travel to the USA. From the first book in the bible its stated that we have been given every herb bearing seed for our benefit. We are so brainwashed and manipulated that we cant even see the truth right in front of us. The FDA certifies that all medication is been tesyed and is safe for use. So how is it that most medications have side effects that have nothing to do with the original issue. a headache medication may have side effects like stomach aches, diarhea, vomiting, etc… this creates the need for more meds, different meds. so this is the start to addiction. But we dont pay attention to these things. I would challenge many of you that have negative perceptions of marijuana to investigate and study this plant which they claim’s a drug. There are many documentaries available spreading knowledge, not propoganda like the governments and law enforcement groups do. Marijuana has so many qualities medically, financially, socially also spiritually. Its time to stop wasting time amd money on fighting this plant. Lets terget violence, hard manufactured drugs and the importation of trash marijuana. We have to be creative in our approach. Our financial crisis would soon end. Government wants to push with this gambling conversation first,, Bermudian people its time to reclaim our island and do what is right. Lets unite for once and push for this marijuana conversation, cause it is kong overdue.

  20. Bermuda says:

Ok since so many support the legalization of cannabis. Users and non-users that support ought to come together at this young man’s trial and let the leaders, the judicial system and its enforcers see that there is a cry for change in our island.
