Friday: Kathmandu Kids Club Christmas Market

November 20, 2013

The Kathmandu Kids Club will be staging their annual Christmas Market on Friday [Nov 22] from 5.30pm – 9:30opm in the heart of Hamilton on the 4th floor of the Washington House.

Thanks to eight years of loyal support from their friends and followers, the KatKids Christmas Market has become an acclaimed fixture on Bermuda’s yearly events calendar.

The festive and exotic evening is organised by the Kathmandu Kids Club, a community fundraising group of dedicated volunteers who raise much needed funds for The ISIS Foundation, a registered Bermuda charity.

The proceeds from the event will go to the ISIS Foundation’s work in remote areas of Nepal and Uganda, that aims to improve the lives of thousands of children and their communities through health, education and other development projects.

At this year’s event, for the first time, they have chosen to donate proceeds from the door to a Bermudian charity and nominated the Eliza Doolittle Society as recipient, a registered Bermudian charity which serves Bermuda’s hungry.

KatKids Event Manager, Francesca Cacace, said, “This event held above the City of Hamilton will transport you to lands far away for an experience not to be missed. 2013’s Christmas Market features amazing new treasures and a gallery full of beautiful paintings and provides plenty of opportunities to find one of a kind gifts, all for a brilliant cause – the perfect way to start the Holiday Season!”

Get into the Christmas spirit in international style with mulled wine and carols and the exotic sights and sounds of Nepal and Uganda. Mingle and shop for gifts through a variety of themed market stalls. Shopping including Nepalese and Ugandan arts, crafts, beautiful beaded and silver jewelry, plus an incense shop.

Vibe 103’s DJ Chubb will be joining the event with festive holiday sounds, and a silent auction will feature a wide range of handpicked, authentic and original artisan crafted items and alluring paintings from Kampala, Uganda & Kathmandu, Nepal.

“The unique atmosphere of the KatKids Market, happy hour drink and food prices all evening and a low $10 cover charge, make this night one you absolutely should not miss” explained Francesca Cacace.

Sharon Beesley, Co-Founder of The ISIS Foundation and President of the Kathmandu Kids Club, said “While we hope that people come to support the market financially, attending the event is also a wonderful way to gain an understanding of the work in which a Bermuda charity is involved in Nepal and Uganda.

“ISIS has been able to make a positive difference to the lives of thousands in Nepal and Uganda, thanks to the generosity of Bermudians. We are also very pleased to announce that for the first time ever, that attending will also help support a Bermudian Charity, the Eliza DoLittle Society helping feed Bermuda’s hungry as we know that there are children in need right here at home”.

Tickets can be bought online in advance or from the new location of the ISIS Law Offices 5th Floor of Andrews Place, 51 Church St. Hamilton, Mambo and the Smoke Shop in Washington Mall. Tickets can also be purchased at the door for cash only.
