Two Men Arrested After 15 Year Old Assaulted
Two men [aged 27 and 29] have have been arrested following an assault on Saturday night which left a 15 year old injured. The police said the assault involved a “bladed article” and unofficial reports indicate it may have been a machete.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 10pm on Saturday, March 8th police responded to a reported serious assault in the Hermitage Road, Devonshire area.
“It appears that a 15 year old Warwick male was assaulted by two men, one brandishing a bladed article. At last check the teenager was being treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for a serious hand injury as well as a laceration to the neck; however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening at this time.
“Two Devonshire men, a 29 year old and a 27 year old, have been arrested in connection with this incident and remain in police custody pending further inquiries.
“Detectives are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information regarding this reported serious assault to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.”

How do you know the teen didn’t have a weapon?
These 15 year olds think they are men and have no problem sticking out there chest to anybody. I’m not condoning this behaviour, but I am on the same page as Vybx Kartel.
But let’s not draw conclusions here. The culture of Bermuda has changed drastically. Machetes? Guns? Once upon a time, these words were not common amongst conversations. Shame.
But you dont know the whole story so maybe you should find it out before making a stupid statement like that.

YOUR morals might not be displayed but because of the type of work that I do (working with troubled teens) I would know how to conduct myself accordingly…. I can tell you however that I wouldnt try and solve the problem with a machete,…..

smh the two men should have never reacted like that over something slight.. the victim is my close friend and when I heard the news I was mad…the reason was slight. he is in critical condition ..im going to visit him tomorrow..
Except in self defense, I can’t think of ANY circumstance where one can rationalize an assault like this. What makes this case particularly sinister is that it was two adults against a teen.
Even worse is the fact that some of us condone this behavior! How did we as a people sink to such a low?

IMHO, it doesn’t matter if it was a teen or another adult they (allegedly) chopped, they level of violence is a worrying issue. We (all of us) need to reach out and help our young people!!!!! I pray for the teen and his family/friends and hopes he has a speedy recovery. I also pray for the young men involved and hope they learn a hard lesson. I also pray for all of us, so that WE can help to eradicate this angry behavior…We are one Bermuda…ur child is my child- peace

Some of these comments are as rediculous as the incident. The boy done nothing wrong and was doing nothing wrong when attacked. Not everyone is a troubled child and maybe his finger got chopped because he defending himself. It says his neck was injured as well. Wow I got that from reading the story.
I know the family personally and they are the most loving kind hearted people I know. The boy is not even from Hermitage Road and regardless even if he done something wrong it didn’t need two grown men and a machete to fix it.
For the whole neighborhood to have cameras doesn’t say that it’s a cool safe place in the first place.
We have about 2 handfuls of really bad people on the island and the whole place gets brought down. Reading these comments is so vexing because you people are so negative. I bet you couldn’t say any of this if you even met the little boy let alone any of his family members.
