Concern Raised After Capsized Kayak Spotted
Concern was raised on Saturday afternoon [Apr 26] when a capsized kayak was seen adrift in Harrington Sound, however it turned out that there was nobody on the kayak, which appeared to have blown from a dock due to high winds.
The Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre said, “Cellular telephone call received from a member of the public reporting concern for a capsized kayak adrift in the vicinity of the aquarium in Harrington Sound.
“Following an urgent marine information broadcast by Bermuda Radio the Police Marine Branch vessel Heron I attended and was able to confirm that there was nobody on board the kayak which appeared to have blown from a dock in the area in recent high winds.”
