Dernier Cri Launches Online Fashion Store

April 11, 2014

Dernier Cri opened its virtual doors with the launch of a full-featured website that specialises in the latest urban fashions for men, and they plan to launch a section on the online storefront call “Bermuda’s Very Own” to promote and sell the clothing of local designers.

According to their website, “Dernier Cri [pronounced dern-yey-kree], meaning the latest fashion, is Bermuda’s newest online clothing store, specializing in urban men’s fashion.

“Through the use of modern technology and excellent customer service, Dernier Cri will give new life to Bermuda’s retail clothing industry which it so desperately desires.

“As if a website is not convenient enough, Dernier Cri will be the next big thing with its fully integrated and synced mobile app.

“The Dernier Cri mobile app will bring the latest fashions to your fingertips, literally. Yes, it’s that simple. With just the click of a button, shopping in Bermuda made easy. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride as we lead the way to a new-age shopping experience.”

The Dernier Cri apps, available for both Apple iOS and Google Android devices, allow for the previewing and purchase of all of the online store’s merchandise, giving customers the ability to order their apparel from any place at any time – the ultimate in shopping convenience.”

Dernier Cri co-owner Robert Richardson said, “Myself and co-owner Marquel Waldron were brainstorming one day and were thinking of ways that we can be our own bosses and utilize our skill sets. With me being a project manager and Marquel an accountant, we felt we were a good fit and decided to venture into men’s clothing as there are not many options in Bermuda for men’s urban apparel and we wanted to fill that void.

“The reason for starting the business online is because everything these days is so technology-based and we wanted to be different from the competition; no one has an online clothing store that delivers to a person’s doorstep and we wanted to be the first to do that.

“Customers can sit at home, at work, on the bus – anywhere – and at any time click a button and know that their orders will be delivered where ever they choose.

“We also wanted to be different by offering affordable products, and not having the overhead like a traditional brick and mortar store allows us to do that. All of our products are ordered in limited quantities, allowing customers to feel unique and be comfortable in knowing that only a select few will sport their apparel.

“Eventually, we want to start selling shoes, as well as venturing into women’s apparel. We know that women tend to shop online much more than men, so we wanted to create that online market for men and then venture into women’s clothing once we gain valuable experience.

“With regards to delivery, we are personally delivering orders at the moment, but it is our plan to work with a major delivery company so that orders can be delivered any time of the day; right now, delivery is available from 6.00pm through 9.00pm, Monday to Saturday.”

To raise awareness about their new business, the co-owners will be also be selling their apparel out of TheHub on Middle Road in Warwick, with additional plans to launch a section on the online storefront call “Bermuda’s Very Own” which will promote and sell the clothing of local designers.
