Additional Bus & Ferry Trips For Harbour Nights

May 5, 2014

In a bid to assist the public to travel to and from Harbour Nights on Wednesdays, there will added late night ferries going westward and additional buses on popular east-bound routes.

Chamber President Kristi Grayston said, “After listening to the feedback from our many vendors and members we have again altered the format of Harbour Nights.

“Most significant is the addition of late night ferries going westward and additional buses on popular east-bound routes. This singular change will allow visitors and locals to take in the sights and sounds of Harbour Nights and not worry about return transport.”

The Director of Public Transportation Mr. Dan Simmons said, “We are happy to work with the Chamber in making Harbour Nights more accessible to persons using public transport.

“The addition of a 10:00 pm and a 10:30 pm ferry on Wednesdays will enable tourists and locals to enjoy a full night out and we expect to see good utilization of both the bus and ferry service.”

Bermuda Industrial Union President Mr. Chris Furbert said, “ The agreement between our three organisations represents the power of partnership and collaboration. We support this initiative wholeheartedly and also expect to see good utilisation of the additional services. “

Regular visitors to Harbour Nights will note that the route has changed to encompass more of Front Street, beginning at the corner of Parliament and curving up to Queen Street at the birdcage and finishing at the junction of Reid Street. Harbour Nights begins on Wednesday May 7th and runs until September 3rd, 2014.

Harbour Nights is sponsored by The Bermuda Tourism Authority, the City of Hamilton, The Department of Cultural Affairs, BELCO, HSBC, Butterfield Bank, The Bermuda Hotel Association, and Fairmont Southampton Hotel.

A wonderful idea. I must say Harbour Night last year was much better than 2012. We had so much fun.
