Voter Information: Sandys South Bye-Election

The Parliamentary Registry Office issued an advisory for advising eligible voters in Constituency #33 Sandys South, which is set to have a bye-election on November 18th.

The bye-election has been called due to the resignation of Terry Lister, with Georgia Marshall set to contest the seat for the OBA, while the PLP is expected to announce their candidate later this week.

The Parliamentary Registry Office is advising eligible voters in Constituency 33 of the following information in advance of the Sandys South Bye-Election on November 18.

Advanced Polls:
Advanced Polls for incapacitated voters and travelers for the Constituency 33, Sandys South Bye-Election will take place on Thursday, November 6th, 2014 from 8 a.m. – to 8 p.m. at the Somers Isles Lodge (Hog Bay level), Sandys.

Travellers:
Eligible voters who are travelling on or before polling day (18th November, 2014) should bring their travel documents and passport or photo identification to the Parliamentary Registry Office to receive a certificate to vote in the advanced polls.

The Parliamentary Registry Office will start issuing advanced polling certificates for travelers on Monday, 3rd of November 2014 during normal working hours. Office hours will be extended on the day of advanced polls from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Please Note: Individuals will not be able to vote in the advanced polls without an advanced polls certificate from the Parliamentary Registry Office.

Incapacitated Voters:
Incapacitated Voters wishing to vote in advance must present themselves to the Chief Medical Officer at the Hamilton Health Center on Victoria Street on the 5th of November 2014 [only] between the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. to receive a certificate of incapacity.

Please Note: Individuals will not be able to vote in the advanced polls without a certificate from the Chief Medical Officer.

    Sandy’s N & S have always been a PLP “stronghold” for the last 40 yrs!! The last white UBP member of Parliament was “flip’ Galloway back in the 60/70′s – until the Liste’rs took over!!!

    It’s going to be very tough for the OBA to win a seat in this neck-of-the-woods!!
