Photos: Fire Service Responds As Plane Diverts
[Updated] Emergency services responded to the airport at around 4.00pm today [April 18] to stand-by due to a private jet with 13 passengers onboard making an emergency landing due to one engine being out.
According to online flight data the plane was heading to New Haven, Connecticut from the Grantley Adams Airport in Barbados when it started diverting to Bermuda.
It touched down at just past 4.30pm, and all appears to have gone safely.
Update 5.50pm: The Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service confirm they responded with seven appliances and ten personnel, and BFRS Spokesperson Sergeant Jamal Albuoy said, “Today at 4:06pm a Falcon 900 Private jet with thirteen passengers onboard diverted to Bermuda once the pilot indicated an in flight emergency.
“Watch Commander David DeCouto confirmed one engine out due to oil pressure. The aircraft landed safely at 4:31pm and BFRS provided assistance to the crew on the ground.”

Yeah , the dreaded two engine approach. Pilot didn’t declare an emergency, just a precautionary engine shutdown ,no emergency declared, why did the Airport declare one ???

Longtail should have them up and running since that type of aircraft exists within their fleet.
