Photos: Fitted Dinghy Racing In St George’s

Bermuda Day is the traditional opening day of the Fitted Dinghy season, and the 2015 Bermuda Fitted Dinghy Racing Season got underway today [May 24] in the St George’s Harbour. The Heritage Trophy race took place at 12 noon, the Anniversary Cup at 1.30pm and the Leon D. Fox Cup followed at 3.00pm.

    I presume some of the AC35 people were there observing the festivities. Racing is extra difficult when half the battle is simply remaining afloat.

    Then there is the spectator fleet to deal with. Don’t know if there is anywhere else where the spectator fleet mixes right in with the racing. Chesapeake Bay Log Canoe racing is not even close.
