Court: Opposition Leader Has Trial Date Set

July 3, 2015

Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [July 3], Opposition Leader Marc Bean appeared with his lawyer, Charles Richardson, who indicated to Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo that prior to going to trial, he would be making legal arguments, in a higher Court, dealing with freedom of expression and other Constitutional matters.

The Magistrate set  a provisional trial date in August but acknowledged that properly processed legal arguments could cause that to change. Mr Bean’s bail was extended.

Mr Bean has been charged with using offensive language in relation to an alleged exchange in November 2014 with former OBA Senator Toni Daniels, which is alleged to have occurred during the Advance Poll for Constituency 33.

What’s up with all these “I’m gonna sue you” cry babies, now SpongeBob has jumped on the bandwagon. We pay them to do a job (which is three times more then the average working person gets) and they cant be questioned or confronted about affairs without being threatened of getting sued ?
The people of Bermuda should sue this Government for not being Transparent which they promised, especially with the Gate cases.

When is Mr. Dunkley’s trial date for his language in the house when he didn’t realize his mic was still on? He was disrespectful to the whole country. Oh how quickly people forget.
