Fundraising “Carwash-a-Thon” This Saturday
The Sandy’s Rotaract Club will be holding their first fundraising event, a Carwash-a-thon, on Saturday [Jan 30] at Butterfield and Vallis, with all proceeds set to benefit the Rotaract Club’s Charter Ceremony and the Club’s upcoming community initiatives.
The Club said, “Come out and join the Sandy’s Rotaract Club for their first fundraising event, a Carwash-a-thon, on Saturday, January 30th 2016 from 9am-3pm at Butterfield and Vallis.
“Enjoy a variety of refreshments while you wait for your car to be washed. All proceeds will benefit the Rotaract Club’s Charter Ceremony and the Club’s upcoming community initiatives.
“Young adults often make headlines for their socially deviant behavior. Sandy’s Rotaract Bermuda is a newly formed community service oriented club which aims to encourage Bermuda’s youth to be positive and productive members of society.
“The Sandy’s Rotaract Club is looking to hold various events to benefit the community and to encourage the professional development of its members.
“We are thankful to our generous donors [Barrits, Bermuda Public Services Union, Bread of Life, Brunswick Bakery, Dunkley’s, The Eliza DoLittle Society and Speciality Cinema] from our Soup Kitchen in October.
“We delivered nutritious meals and clothing items to over 40 people in need. It is through such charitable donations that we are able to continue in our works for the community
“Future community service events proposed by the Sandy’s Rotaract Club include school reading programs, mentoring programs and social events for the youth. There will also be professional development events for all young adults, including the Charter Ceremony and in-meeting speeches on various topics.
“See the Club’s Facebook page for updates on what we’ll be doing this year, starting with the Car-Wash-A-Thon.”
