Powerboat Racing Rescheduled Due To Weather

May 15, 2016

The Bermuda Power Boat Association’s first race of the season, due to take place today [May 15] at Ferry Reach, has been rescheduled due to the unfavorable weather.

A spokesperson said, “Due to the unfavorable weather conditions, the executive committee will be cancelling today’s scheduled powerboat race and using the back up date of 29 May. Safety is our number one concern.”

The Bermuda Weather Service forecast says, “As a weak frontal boundary slowly moves across the area today, a passing shower or two persist into the afternoon with isolated morning thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds decrease this afternoon.”

A Small Craft Warning has been issued and is valid for this morning through this afternoon.
