In what some fans of the red and blue may take as a good omen, Somerset defeated St George’s in the Colt Cup Match on Sunday.

The match took place at the Somerset Cricket Club, with the playing time reduced due to the rain. Somerset Cricket Club won the toss and elected to send St. George’s Cricket Club to bat, St. George’s Cricket Club scored 85/7, Nzari Paynter was the top scorer with 22, while Sheldon Caesar was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 6-1-16-4.

In reply the Somerset Cricket Club scored 86/4, Joseph Basden was the top scorer with 27. while Kwasi James added 24 not out, Chare Smith was the pick of the St. George’s Cricket Club bowlers with figures of 6-2-15-2.
