Photos, Video & Results: Senior Netball Season

After being cancelled due to inclement weather, the Bermuda Netball Association Winter league 2016 opening ceremony was held on Saturday [Oct 29] at Bernard Park.

Activities got underway with the teams’ dress parade and a welcome by BNA President Kimale Evans. An individual shooting competition was held before the teams took to the court to compete in the Sylvia Eastley Tournament.

A spokesperson said, “This year we have 6 league teams: Blazzin Phoenix coached by Angela Edwards, North Village Lady Rams coached by Nicole Smith, Phoenix Flames coached by Erika Russell, Phoenix Heat coached by Erika Russell, Robin Hood Ladies coached by Lettina Simpson, and Storm coached by Gina Benjamin.

“The second half of the tournament will resume on November 12th as the BNA is holding a weekend of events next week starting on Friday night with the Youth Classic.


“This year we will be honouring long time coach Merle Parfitt. This will be followed by the breast cancer awareness tournament on Saturday. Both events were postponed due to a hurricane Nicole. The BNA would like to thank Barritts for donating beverages for the event.”
