Located on Brighton Hill in Devonshire, Bermuda Paint is the only paint company on the island that manufacturers its own paint. The first batch of paint was made in April of 1958 and soon after production was in full swing. Bermuda Paint’s product line is allocally made and developed especially for Bermuda’s climate.

Two of the oldest brands that are still manufactured by the company is A.C.R. and DecraTone latex paints. These have changed over the years as newer materials have been developed and reformulated with 100% acrylic resins.

Bermuda Paint also introduced two roof coatings, A.C.R. Roof white and Bermuda Roof Guard. The first product is a 100% acrylic roof coating and the other is an Elastomeric coating that can be applied to any cement base roof or roof coating, when the appropriate primer has been applied first. Both of these products are approved by the Bermuda Health Department.

The company has also developed its own formulated acrylic primers, that are alkyne resistant to the types of plaster used in the construction of Bermuda homes. The Millennium exterior paint line was developed in 2000 to accompany the Millennium Colour System that was to be introduced. This was used for many years and these colours are still available today.

In 2001, Devonshire Industries was incorporated and all shareholders were moved from Bermuda Paint Company Ltd to Devonshire Industries Limited and the company was placed on the Bermuda Stock Exchange as a public company.

Bermuda Paint has a history of creative endeavours. In 2003 they were approached by two local roofing companies to supply them with the adhesives, fibered cement and coating for a foam type roofing system.

Bermuda Paint’s chemist at the time, Mr. Bruce Quayle, with his knowledge and years of experience, was able to develop the requested products and in 2005 Bermuda True Roof system was born. Bermuda Paint has been on the leading edge of this roofing system ever since.

Following the success of Bermuda True Roof, in 2008, Bermuda Paint developed a new colour system using colours from Bermuda’s natural environment. In 2013, after 5 years of development, the Environmental Colour System was launched at the grand opening of Bermuda Paint’s renovated Retail Shop.

To celebrate their 60th year in business, Bermuda Paint is offering a special storewide sale and free giveaway throughout the months of April, May and June. Customers will enjoy 30% off in April, 25% off in May and 20% off in June.
