Advisory: Road Works Set For May 27 – 28

May 27, 2017

The Ministry of Public Works is advising the public about upcoming road works that will take place from Saturday [May 27] to Sunday [May 28].

A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists there will be road paving works taking place this weekend on Pitt’s Bay Road from Bermudiana Road to the entrance of Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, near Smatt’s Cycle Livery Ltd. The road paving work is necessary to reinstate the road surface to a good condition.

“Pitt’s Bay Road will have alternating one-lane closures in effect. Motorists are advised to take alternate routes to their destinations to avoid these works. The Ministry will be paving both the travel lane and the parking lanes.

“This road closure is effective on Saturday 27th May, and Sunday, 28th May, 2017. The works are set to commence at 7:30 am and will continue until 7pm on both days.

“This Ministry apologizes for any inconveniences that the lane closures may cause, and requests that motorists cooperate with the traffic control devices in place.

“It should be noted that these works are weather dependant.”

Doing the long overdue work on Pitts Bay road on the first weekend of AC when the Princess hotel is filled to capacity & there will be much foot & vehicle traffic along that section of road, perfect timing. Maximum possible disruption.

Who is the intellectual flea at W&E who made that decision? Looks highly suspicious.

Pretty dumb whoever made that decision and this time… its been like this all this time another couple weeks wouldn’t hurt.
On a side note make the contractors who left the road in that condition responsible…
