Emmerson Carrington To Officiate In Toronto
The Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] President, Lloyd Fray, congratulated Emmerson Carrington on his selection by ICC to officiate in the regional World Cup qualifier in Toronto from July 15th to July 25th.
This tournament features three countries in a double round robin format with the winner advancing to the 2018 Cricket World Cup held in New Zealand from 12 January to 4 February 2018. Bermuda will be battling regional rivals Canada and USA for the one available berth.
Mr Fray said, “Bermuda has a strong history of producing quality international umpires who have proven themselves on the international stage consistently.
“The BCB is continually looking for international experiences to support our local officials and advocating for their inclusion so we are excited that Emmerson has been given another opportunity.
“I have no doubt that Emmerson will continue to enhance that reputation. This follows his selection earlier this year to the ICC Regional World Cricket League Qualifier between Cayman Islands and Argentina.
“I congratulate him and the BCUA on this appointment and trust that not only will Emmerson grow from the experience but the opportunity will aspire others to follow in his footsteps.”
