Police Inquiries Into Possible ‘Drink Spiking’

Saying they are aware of a voice note circulating that suggests there are cases of women having “foreign substances unknowingly placed into their beverages,” the police said there have been no reports recently submitted to the police, however inquiries have commenced and they appealing for the public’s assistance in providing information.

A police spokesperson said, “Police are aware of a voice note circulating through social media and WhatsApp that suggests that there are cases of women who have had foreign substances unknowingly placed into their beverages at liquor licensed establishments.

“It should be noted that to date there have been no reports of this nature recently submitted to the police.

“However, inquiries have commenced regarding this matter and we are appealing for the public’s assistance in providing us with any information that identifies any victim of such an incident, the suspect[s] and the location[s] or establishment[s] that it is believed an incident of this nature has occurred in.

    I had my drink spiked at the same est. as the vn in circulation a few years back. Police treated me and my friend like 2 drunk fools. Hummed and stalled to get footage etc. Hospital as well, ignored request to test blood.. by the time they believed us it was too late. Haunts me to this day. I have a pretty good idea who it was too. He is a frequent patron of said est. No proof. Hopefully they catch the person red handed. These places of business also need to keep their video footage longer than one weekend.

    Island wide?
    The police should provide the public at large with intelligent tips for safety.
    How long has this madness been going on?
    Any possible suspects?
    Women must be kept informed!!
