Bermuda Festival Starts Rush Ticket Policy

January 18, 2019

44th annual Bermuda Festival Executive Director T.J. Armand announced today [Jan 18] that the Festival will start a Rush Ticket policy, “which allows available discount tickets to be sold to the public one hour before each show at the box office.”

The Festival will host a Rush Ticket Happy Hour before each show where the ticket buyers and ticket holders can also enjoy refreshments.”

Mr. Armand said, “The Festival opens tomorrow. You asked, we delivered. The community had asked for a comprehensive Rush Ticket policy for years and this is the first season we will be able to implement it. I’d like to thank Ptix, Goslings, Fairmont Southampton and our volunteers for making this possible.

“We are very excited to announce our Rush Ticket Happy Hour, available only at the box office of the various venues at which the Festival takes place. Come early, enjoy refreshments and get your discount tickets. However, I must emphasize, that this is only for remaining available tickets.

“Most shows sell out prior to the performance time so there are no guarantees. The best way to make sure you have discount tickets is still through our membership programme. Please visit BermudaFestival.org for details. We also strongly encourage students and seniors to take advantage of these deals.”

Mr. Armand also noted that, thanks to an anonymous donor, 156 tickets for plays such as A Midsummer Night’s Dream [January 25, 26], Nina Simone: Four Women [January 29, 30, 31] and Terrence McNally’s Tony Award-winning play Master Class [March 8, 9] will be allocated – free of charge – to designated schools.

Mr. Armand said, “Student outreach is top priority for us and we’re also excited to offer the entire outreach programme free of charge for the first time. For more info and registration, please contact outreach@bermudafestival.org.”
