National Swimming Championships Results

The Bermuda National Swimming Championships were held at the National Sports Centre on the weekend. The Sunday evening session was unfortunately cut short due to the inclement weather, but this did not deter the athletes.

Sharks Swimmer, Jesse Washington was back from SMU for the summer break and showed his class by winning the 13 and over Men’s Individual High Points Swim for his 100m Freestyle where he clocked a time of 54.96.

Fellow Sharks swimmer Logan Watson-Brown received the Girls Individual High Points Award for her 100m Freestyle swim in a time of 58.44. In the 12 and under category, Bella Howes and Giulio Ligori won High Points Swims in the 400m Freestyle [4.49.55] and 200m Freestyle [2:18.86] respectively.

Imojen Judd, Giulio Ligori, Logan Watson Brown, and Jack Harvey were the overall high points winners in each of their age categories.

Sharks Head Coach, Ben Smith said, “The Sharks coaches are very proud of our swimmers’ performances at National Championships. On the local calendar, this is the competition that we circle at the beginning of the year. Having so many of our swimmers perform their best at this time was satisfying to watch.”

Many of the swimmers will now set their sights on CCCAN which will take place from 28th June until 2nd July in Barbados.
