Phillips Has Mixed Day On European Jr Tour

Daniel Phillips had a mixed day competing on the European Junior Tennis Tour as he took to the court again to compete in the VLTC Euro Under 14 Tournament in Malta.

In his Men’s Singles match, Phillips took on Gabriele Vulpitta from Italy going down in three sets. Vulpitta won the First Set 7-5, but Phillips drew the match level when he won the Second Set 6-1, Vulpitta would then close out the match winning the Third and Final Set 6-4.

Phillips teamed up with Uwe Diehl from Belgium in the Doubles, they defeated Matteo Giardina and Michele Lo Furno from Italy in a three set battle.

Phillips and Diehl won the First Set 6-2, but their Italian opponents leveled the match when they won the Second Set 6-1. Phillips and Diehl won the Third Set tie-breaker 10-8.
