August 11, 2019 | 0 Comments

Bermuda’s Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has been speaking for those who can’t speak for themselves for 100 years now.

And the charity will be celebrating its centennial in grand style in September with a gala event to raise funds earmarked for its Valley Road, Paget shelter

Founded in 1919 and incorporated in 1921, the SPCA’s mandate is to provide effective, lawful means for the prevention of cruelty to animals; to promote the education of the general public on the care and well being of all animals and to encourage and promote kindness to animals.

Its semi-formal centennial masquerade ball will take place on September 28 at the private residence Norwood off Pitts Bay Road. Contact VHMcKey@yahoo.com for ticket information.
