Department Of Statistics Labour Force Survey

November 17, 2019

The Department of Statistics will conduct a Labour Force Survey from November 21, 2019 to January 31, 2020, with an aim to “collect information about workforce and economic activity.”

A Government spokesperson said, “The public is advised that from November 21, 2019 – January 31, 2020, telephone and in the field interviewers from the Department of Statistics will conduct a Labour Force Survey. However only selected households will be required to participate in the Labour Force Survey.

“The main purpose of the Survey is to collect information about workforce and economic activity. The information will be used to update key labour market indicators such as employment and unemployment statistics.

“The Department notes that the Survey is being done under Section 11 of the Statistics Act 2002, which requires all selected households respond.

“Selected residents should request to see official photo identification to confirm that the field interviewer is a Department of Statistics employee when they visit their home.

“The Department assures that the information provided will be treated in the strictest confidence. Lastly, the Department is requesting that if a participating household has pets, to please secure them when an interviewer visits.

“The Department takes this opportunity to thank those households for their cooperation and looks forward to their support.”
