Video: ‘Taking Off’ Highlights Charity Golf Classic
Skyport has released the latest episode of ‘Taking Off’, a video series with host Mikaela Pearman that highlights the airport redevelopment project, with this episode highlighting the Airport Charity Golf Classic.
Speaking in the episode, Mikaela Pearman said, “Skyport, Aecon and the Bermuda Airport Authority held the second annual Airport Charity Golf Classic in October.
“More than one hundred golfers came together to raise money for SCARS and Tomorrow’s Voices at the Rosewood Tucker’s Point Golf Club.
“SCARS and Tomorrow’s Voices were chosen for their direct and positive impact on Bermuda’s young people. They both meet Skyport’s goal of supporting the education and development of our children by investing in schools and programmes.
“More than $30,000 was raised for these two charities, exceeding the $30,000 mark yet again that was donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters and Mirrors last year, thanks to our amazing sponsors.
“Stacy Hill and Erica Smith of Tomorrow’s Voice and SCARS board member Glenda Edwards attended the event and spoke to about their respective programmes.
“Twenty-seven teams participated in the tournament with players from various companies in Bermuda and from overseas. Many of the sponsoring companies are subcontractors currently working on the airport redevelopment project.
“It was a great day raising money for two wonderful charities.”
