1st Round Of Bermuda Four-Ball Championships

February 1, 2020

The 1st round of the Bermuda Four-Ball Championships was played at Port Royal Golf Course today [Feb 1].

The organisers said it had “benign conditions at the start and increasing winds throughout the round… a taste of what can be expected tomorrow!

“Despite the tough conditions, the Men’s defending champions managed a best ball 2-under par score of 69 with Fraser Hunt and Spencer Wideman two shots back at even par 71.

“The defending Ladies Champions, Katrin Burnie and Linda Down also managed a two stroke lead, with a gross score of 74 ahead of Ann Symonds and Tracy Burgess.

“In the Senior Men’s division, the team of Craig Christensen and Luis Gerardo are holding a fairly convincing lead after shooting a 7 over par 78 round to take an 8 shot lead over the 2nd place contenders, Alexander White and Alistair Smith.

“Round 2 is scheduled to get underway at 7.30am tomorrow morning, but with winds forecast to be as high as 50 knots, it is questionable whether the 2nd round will be completed.

“A decision will be made early tomorrow morning and in the event that it is not possible to complete the 2nd round, the result will be based on the Round 1 final results.”
