NMAC Offers Virtual/Telephone Consultations

March 20, 2020

To limit the spread of the Covid-19, Northshore Medical & Aesthetics Center [NMAC] urges its patients to utilise its virtual /telephone consultations for consultations, including information & treatment for the coronavirus.

A spokesperson said, “Northshore Medical & Aesthetics Center [NMAC] is informing the community that they are currently open for business with limited physical interaction but can conduct virtual /telephone consultations with their patients.

“NMAC has launched its state-of-the-art virtual consultation platform so that patients can still be seen for general consultations as well as for those who are seeking information and treatment for the Novel Coronavirus Disease also known as COVID-19.

“Resultant of the confirmed cases on-island, NMAC has taken creative and additional measures to ensure we deliver the absolute highest level of quality care for our patient in a virtual environment. Conducting the virtual appointments, ensures patients receive continuity of care but most of all ensures that we keep both the patient and staff of NMAC safe from any form of community spread. NMAC believes that it is vital for patients to be effectively managed and are not exposed to major gaps in health management amid this global pandemic.

“While we are in the middle of this isolation period, NMAC is taking the following steps to ensure safety for all. If patients are in a state of wellness and desire to physically come into the office, NMAC is following the guidance of the Bermuda Government to practice social distancing and limiting the number of people within the building.

Upon arrival to the practice, patients will be pre-screened at the entrance:

  • “Asked questions regarding their current health status and travel history;
  • “Temperatures will be taken on every patient;
  • “If cleared, patient will be asked to sanitize hands prior to sitting in the spaced out waiting area;
  • “Any guests accompanying the patient will be asked to remain outside of the practice unless the patient is a minor or elderly.

“NMAC ideally is looking to move, if not all- majority, of their physical consultations to virtual consultations. If a patient is requiring medication refills, lab and/or diagnostic results reviewed, experiencing COVID-19 symptoms [dry cough, fever, shortness of breath or any cold like symptoms] or have general health questions NMAC is encouraging patients to contact the office on 293-5476 to schedule a virtual consultation with a physician.

“The practice will be accepting limited walk-in consultations, but it is imperative that patients contact the office to schedule a virtual consultation, as a preferred method. Additionally, if patients have pre-scheduled physical consultations, contact the office to determine if your appointment is eligible for a virtual consultation.

“Remember NMAC’s number one priority is the health and well-being of all its patients and staff members and will take every precautionary measure to ensure that is safe guarded. Contact the office with all questions, they are here to serve you the community.”
