Video: Police Update On Shooting Investigation

Two people are in custody following the shooting on Middle Road in Warwick that resulted in a 33-year old man being injured.

Detective Inspector Kenten Trott said, “The Bermuda Police Service is currently actively investigating a firearms incident that occurred on Friday, 5.20pm on Middle Road in Warwick. A 33-year old male was injured, and is now recovering at a local hospital.

“What is particularly concerning about this incident is that it occurred in the middle of the afternoon in a busy, commercial, residential area and there were children in the immediate vicinity when the shooting took place.

“The suspects in this matter had no regard for anyone when they committed this senseless act. There were number of suspects involved, two left the scene in a waiting car, and one left on foot travelling in the direction of St Mary’s Road.

“The first suspect is described as tall, slim build, light skin, wearing a black tan jacket, gloves, dark pants and sneakers. The second suspect is described as short, slim build, brown skin, wearing a black short sleeve shirt, dark pants and sneakers. The third suspect is described as light skinned, wearing a white t-shirt, and dark pants.

“Police executed a number of warrants at various locations on the island. There are currently two people in police custody that are assisting with inquiries.”

The police also confirmed that there were “some items of jewelry” taken from the individual that was shot, and added that they continue to investigate the matter.
